The Forgotten Fougère.
There was a time when a fougère did not simply mean fresh.
It was darker than that. Stranger. More cultivated.
It smelled of civilisation meeting wilderness… the immaculate collar of a gentleman who had walked through wet woods, carrying traces of crushed herbs, moss, tobacco and cold forest air back with him.
Fougère Oublié was created from that memory.
Not as a recreation of one particular vintage perfume, but as an attempt to recover the forgotten language of the fougère itself: bitter, aromatic, floral, moss-covered, slightly medicinal and deeply elegant.
The opening arrives like pale sunlight finding its way through an old forest canopy. Bergamot, Buddha’s Hand citron and bitter lemon peel illuminate lavender, lavandin, clary sage and chamomile, while fresh-cut grass, petitgrain and crushed green leaves give the perfume its unmistakably wild green pulse.
Then the composition begins to turn inward.
Geranium and rose emerge among carnation, lilac, violet and hyacinth. Orris and heliotrope soften their edges, while cinnamon and clove introduce the quiet warmth of an old wooden room— the suggestion of dried flowers, polished drawers, pressed fabric and pages that have absorbed decades of air.
And underneath everything waits the forest floor.
Oakmoss. Damp moss. A suggestion of cold stone. Patchouli darkened with age. Vetiver, cedarwood and sandalwood disappearing into tonka bean, coumarin, sweetgrass, benzoin and the faint shadow of tobacco leaf.
Nothing here is excessively polished.
The moss is allowed to feel damp.
The herbs retain their bitterness.
The flowers carry powder and shadow.
The woods feel lived in.
Because Fougère Oublié is not nostalgia.
Nostalgia beautifies the past.
Memory remembers the rain on the stone, the medicinal bitterness of crushed leaves, the smell of wool after walking through a forest, the sweetness hidden inside an old wooden drawer… and the moss growing quietly where sunlight rarely reaches.
This is a fougère from that forgotten place.
A perfume for those who remember a world they may never have lived in.
