Cuirose, the bottle
No. II · Cuirose · the wall text

Every perfume carries a story. Yet with Cuirose, the tale feels unusually personal, as though a quiet fragment of its creator has been sealed within the glass itself.

This fragrance was not simply composed. It was lived with. For months it lingered on the workbench of Mr Dixit, where it changed in the smallest, most deliberate ways. One evening he would declare the composition complete. By the next morning he would return again, adjusting a single drop with the patience of a watchmaker. Such is the nature of a perfumer who refuses to leave beauty unfinished.

The first spark came from the American Leather accord, a material that has quietly earned admiration among niche perfume enthusiasts. It carries the character of worn saddles and old riding gloves, polished by years of touch. There is the suggestion of tobacco in the air, the warmth of a jacket left hanging after a long evening. Strong, textured, a little defiant.

Yet leather alone could never tell the whole story. It needed a counterpoint. Something gentle. Something luminous.

So the roses arrived.

Two varieties were chosen. Turkish Rose and Rose Damascena. They were studied separately, blended together, separated once more, and reunited again until their voices finally aligned. What emerged from this patient dialogue is what the perfumer likes to call “Roses of the God.” Their beauty carries brightness, yet there is also a quiet depth beneath the petals, a hint that even the most radiant flower understands the passing of time.

Beneath this union lies a soft and graceful foundation. Amber spreads warmth through the composition, while the delicate whisper of cotton flower introduces an unusual tenderness. Cotton is rarely chosen in perfumery because it speaks so quietly, almost shyly. In Cuirose it becomes the invisible thread that gives the fragrance a suspended quality, as though the entire structure floats gently above the skin.

Far below, the balsamic resins move slowly through the background. They do not seek attention. They simply steady the composition, giving it calm depth and quiet gravity.

And if one leans close enough, a subtle detail begins to reveal itself. A faint suggestion of blackcurrant, soft and shadowed. It never announces its presence. Instead it moves like a dark ribbon through the leather and roses, encouraging the nose to return again and again.

In another house, a perfume built with such materials and patience might easily appear at four hundred dollars for a fifty milliliter bottle. Presentation, elaborate packaging, and theatrical campaigns would justify the price.

That is not the path chosen here.

Cuirose arrives without excessive ornament. No elaborate boxes. No spectacle. Only a simple vessel that places full attention on what truly matters: the fragrance itself and the quiet pleasure found in each spray.

Because Cuirose was never meant to impress from a distance. It reveals itself in that intimate moment when leather, roses, amber, and cotton unfold together upon the skin. Bold yet gentle. Smooth yet unpredictable.

This September, Cuirose appears as an India exclusive, released in limited quantity and kept intentionally private.

And for those fortunate enough to hold a bottle, the experience will likely say far more than these words ever could. For Cuirose does not merely rest upon the wearer.

It lingers. It remembers. And in time, it becomes part of the story of the one who wears it. ✨
